Spiritual
Every year, all CCU student-athletes participate in our annual athletic retreat - a 2 to 3 day event geared toward laying the spiritual foundation for our programs that year.
Spiritual
CCU student-athletes attend university chapel on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in addition to athlete chapel every month.
Other
Cougar athletes travel in CCU-owned mini vans and people movers to compete. Travel is huge in the RMAC, geographically one of the largest athletic conferences in the NCAA.
Athletics History
CCU's three youngest sports are women's golf and baseball - added in 2005 - and softball, added in 2011.
CCU History
Colorado Christian traces its beginnings back to 1914, when evangelist Clifton Fowler recruited two students and founded Denver Bible Institute. CCU will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2014.
Other
CCU joined the National Christian College Athletic Association in 2006, and is currently affiliated with both the NCAA and the NCCAA.
Spiritual
CCU Athletics is currently working on a partnership with Food for the Hungry and GOALL Sports Ministry in San Jose, Costa Rica with the intent of sending groups and teams there 1-2 times a year.
Athletics History
In addition to our 13 sports, fans have also cheered on competitors in football (65-89), skiing (76-86) and bowling (62-63), though not at the NCAA level.
Athletics History
CCU's sports history is colored and far reaching: m. basketball traces its roots back to 1946, w. basketball 1979, volleyball 1966, w soccer 1983, m soccer 1968, tennis 1988, m golf 1994, & XC to 1996.
Athletics History
The CCU Event Center was built in 1989, the same year that a handful of CCU's varsity sports began.
Academics
CCU Athletics has posted cumulative GPAs above a 3.0 for 27 out of the last 29 semesters, and has beaten the overall GPA of the CCU undergraduate population in all but 8 of those semesters.
CCU History
Before joining the RMAC, CCU was a charter member of the Colorado Athletic Conference, a conference that was made up of 6 current RMAC schools in addition to the University of Denver and the Air Force Academy.
Athletics History
CCU joined NCAA Division II in 1988.
Spiritual

Like most teams, each of our athletic squads has a captain or two. But each team also has at least one chaplain - a player on the team that helps lead bible studies, devotionals, etc.

Spiritual
In the past few years, CCU Athletics has taken 6 mission trips: Uganda (w soccer), Dominican Republic (baseball), Mexico City (m basketball), Costa Rica (volleyball & w basketball), Honduras (m soccer).
Academics
Despite the travel involved with competing in the Rock Mountain Athletic Conference, CCU's student-athletes miss very little class time because CCU offers little to no classes on Fridays.
Alumni
Over 20 alumni have returned to coach or serve in Athletics in another capacity, including current JV Volleyball Coach Tina Kettles and Associate Athletic Director Aimee Davison.
Alumni
CCU Athletics hosts Alumni Games on one day in October each year, offering alumni the opportunity to reconnect and play at CCU again.
