CCU Volleyball's
Andria Harshman announced on April 18
th, 2017 that she will be stepping down as the head coach at the end of this spring season. Harshman has been at the helm of the CCU Volleyball program since April 2015. CCU Athletic Director
Brian Wall remarked "It is with sadness that I am communicating to you that
Andria Harshman will be stepping down as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach here at CCU. While she thoroughly enjoys coaching and investing in deep relationships with her team, the Lord is prompting her to step away from that ministry investment and focus even more intensely upon the needs of her husband and children right now."
Â
In her first season, Harshman led the Cougs to a winning record of 20-18 and swept the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament, coming in third place at the NCCAA National Tournament. In the Fall 2016 season, Harshman improved the Cougars record to 27-11, a .711% winning percentage, which is the best record CCU Volleyball has ever seen. Coach Harshman made an RMAC Playoff appearance and once again swept the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament, and placed third at NCCAA Nationals.
Â
Harshman commented on her resignation stating "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as the CCU Head Volleyball Coach these past two years. Â This group of young woman are not only committed to excellence on the court, but they are academically driven, spiritually mature, and so much fun to be around! Â I will miss my coaching staff and this team very much; however God is leading my husband Brian and I in a different direction at this stage in our lives. I am looking forward to following His plan and taking a step away to be more involved with my family."
Â
Colorado Christian University is grateful to have had such an amazing coach come through our doors. The University and the Athletic Department wish Andria a happy and joyful future through all of her endeavors both personally and professionally. CCU will be conducting a nationwide search to determine the next coach for the volleyball program.
